Resident Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Summer works with adolescents, young adults and their families. She has clinical experience dealing with substance use, depression, grief and loss, parent-child relationships issues and career development. Summer uses an integrated approach and believes that clients are the lead of their treatment. When working with clients, Summer applies techniques and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Theory and focuses on helping clients achieve the goals of their life. Summer also utilizes Structural Family Therapy Model to address dysfunctional systems/subsystems within families.

 

Summer earned an M. Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William and Mary in May 2017. She is currently working toward licensure under supervision. Summer comes from China and earned her B.S. at the Renmin University of China in Beijing. In her spare time, Summer enjoys watching movies, writing journals, and working out.
