As a therapist, Summer firmly believes that client and counselor can walk together along unique developmental paths and make better decisions. Summer strives to create a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space for her clients. Summer’s first step is to build a trusting therapeutic bond with you, which is the foundation of the “team work”.

Summer has completed master’s level training and is passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, and their families. Summer’s special interests include substance use, depression and anxiety, parent-child relationships, and life’s transitions. Summer’s previous clinical experiences have taught her that everybody can solve their problems when provided with right resources and genuine support.


Summer uses an integrated approach and believes that clients are the lead of their treatment. She is a skilled listener with compassion and professional insight to guide you in your healing. Summer applies techniques and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Theory, a logical and evidence-based approach, to help clients achieve their goals. She is also trained in the Structural Family Therapy Model Summer which has been proven effective in resolving the challenges many families face. Summer works collaboratively to make a treatment plan that best meets your therapeutic needs and goals.

Summer earned an MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of William & Mary. Summer comes from China and earned her B.S. at the Renmin University of China in Beijing. She has found the local community and clients she works with to be warm and welcoming. Summer intends to pursue her doctoral studies in the United States. In her spare time, Summer enjoys watching movies, writing journals, and working out.
